Be Strong Courageous As Disciples: Get To Know James

For Your Heart Today

Discipleship is not a straight line. It is a courageous becoming.

James the Greater was impetuous, bold, ambitious, and self-confident. Quick to act, quick to speak, eager for honor. Yet through discipleship, Jesus transformed him into a man of depth, faith, prayer, and faithful witness. His raw edges became refined strength. His boldness became courage rooted in surrender.

James's story invites us into three courageous choices: choosing God's purpose over our own dreams, submitting to God's process through highs and lows, and persisting faithfully in God's call, no matter the cost. His life shows us that discipleship requires strength and courage at every turn, not because the path is easy, but because following Jesus asks us to become something we could never become on our own.

This week, ask yourself: Which invitation am I resisting? Where is Jesus calling me to choose His purpose, surrender to His process, or persist in His call?
