Jesus is Alive Today!

 Jesus is alive, as many saw on the first Resurrection Sunday! The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus have been called the greatest love story ever told. We are invited to be a part of that story. The point of Jesus’ death and resurrection is to know Jesus and to know God. As the Son of God, Jesus took on flesh to become one of us. Though Jesus was innocent, He took on the sin of humanity. He paid the debt and took on the penalty that should have been ours. If we are honest, we are guilty of sins against God. Jesus carried all of our sins on our behalf. Jesus then proved His divinity when He rose again and conquered death with the debt of humanity paid once and for all. Jesus made a path for us to receive forgiveness of sins (past, present, and future), and to experience a relationship with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are invited to know God, with no separation or barriers, or sin obstacles. We cannot earn God’s favor, no matter how hard we try. We cannot earn what is a free gift. Jesus paid it all, so we wouldn’t have to. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus made it possible for us to be reunited with God. The love story is still unfolding. Jesus is very much alive today, and Jesus invites us to know Him. Through the presence and power of His Spirit, there is always more of Jesus to get to know.
